Message :thinks the AFR ratio is leaner than it really is. The ecu does not use info from the lambdas before the engine is hot, so this condition would cause this kind of trouble.
:Or The chip you got does not fit YOUR engine. Honsetly i would skip chips alltogether (as they are not more that a best guess kind of thing) and go for something mappable.
:Like the Nistune. Or a full standalone. But avoid AEM. I would recomend a Vi-pec.

Well, you may very well be right, but I guess my potential issue with that is that it ran great and idled perfet for like three hours that day.

once I got it fully warmed up, I checked the TPS voltage via the AVCR, then pulled the plug on the IACV and set the idle according to the FSM, and it was smoothe as silk. It really is a head scratcher...
